PHILIP M. KNOX, JR.- (1922-2002)

Mr. Knox received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1943, and earned his Juris Doctorate from Hastings College of the Law, University of California, in 1949.

In 1943, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy and served aboard ship in the Western Pacific until the end of the war.

Mr. Knox spent a substantial portion of his legal career as Vice President and Corporate General Counsel for Sears, Roebuck and Co. He retired from that position in 1986.

From 1987 to 2000, he served as Adjunct Professor of Banking and Consumer Credit Law at McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, in Sacramento, California.

Mr. Knox was a founding Director of the American Corporate Counsel Association. From 1997-2000, he served as a member of the Board of Directors for the California Alumni Association, University of California. He was formerly a Trustee of Hastings College of the Law's 1066 Foundation, and in 2001 was honored as Alumnus of the Year by the Alumni Association of Hastings College of the Law.
